Struthers Farm - Hexham
Struthers Farm is situated in the North Pennines in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, in tranquil Northumberland (visitnorthumberland).
The counties of Cumbria and Durham are both in close proximity.
This fabulous rural setting has panoramic views of the surrounding countryside for you to enjoy. The farm is small and traditional and in this part of the countryside, lapwings and curlews mingle with the cattle and sheep.
The location is ideal for touring with the world heritage site of Hadrian's Wall nearby, as is the market town of Hexham with its Abbey, and the historic village of Corbridge, with its charming shops.
Also within reach at The Lakes, Beamish Museum, Killhope Lead Mining Museum, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, the superb Northumberland coastline, the Metro Centre and Newcastle.
If you simply want to savour the peace and quiet of Struthers Farm and enjoy the local walks nearby then Staward Gorge / Allen Banks can be explored. There is a pleasant walk along the River Allen, where the Allendale bakery can be a 'refreshment point' and the peaceful Station Garden at Langley is worth a visit.
The popular race course at Hexham is only 20 minutes away.
Struthers Farm is also close to Langley Castle. It is only 10 minutes drive and is convenient accommodation for guests attending functions at the castle.
